Device features:
1. Protect the control loop of the upper stage of the host computer.
2. Reduce the impact of environmental noise on the test circuit, and can overcome inverter noise and various high and low frequency pulsation interference.
3. It suppresses the interference of circulating currents in public ground wires and pulses of frequency converters, solenoid valves, thyristors, etc. to equipment. It also has the function of limiting voltage and current for lower-level equipment. It is a faithful protection for transmitters, instruments, frequency converters, solenoid valves, PLC/DCS input and output, and communication interfaces.
The DIN35 series standard 35mm guide rail card holder structure is easy to install and can effectively isolate: the potential difference between signal input, signal output, power supply and earth.
1. High Isolation Between Input and Output
The GRF series provides a specified input-to-output isolation withstand voltage of 6,000 VDC, tested for 60 seconds at the stated 1 mA leakage condition. Insulation resistance exceeds 1,000 MΩ when measured at 500 VDC.
The isolation barrier separates the supply and output ground domains, helping reduce ground-loop interference and common-mode coupling. It supports applications requiring electrical separation between low-voltage control circuits and high-voltage output circuitry. Suitability for medical or other safety-regulated equipment requires evaluation against the applicable system requirements.
2. Input Options for Different DC Supply Rails
Three input families accommodate nominal 5 V, 12 V and 24 V supplies, with respective operating ranges of 4.5–9 V, 9–18 V and 18–28 V. Designers can select the version that matches the available power rail.
Specified line regulation is ±1%, while load regulation is ±1% over 10–100% load. No-load power consumption is stated as 300 mW. These characteristics support high-voltage generation in instruments where supply variation and standby power demand are design considerations.
3. High-Voltage Outputs with Recoverable Short-Circuit Protection
Depending on the selected model, the GRF series offers output voltages from 50 to 500 VDC and power ratings from 1 to 5 W. Continuous, self-recovering short-circuit protection allows the output to recover after the fault is removed, subject to the specified operating conditions.
Published characteristics include ±2% output accuracy, a temperature coefficient of 0.02%/°C and switching frequencies between 200 and 400 kHz. Output ripple, filtering and load requirements should be considered when integrating the module into noise-sensitive detector or measurement circuits.
4. Compact SIP Package for PCB Integration
The module uses a SIP package measuring 33.0 × 10.5 × 15.5 mm and weighing approximately 10 g. The housing material carries a stated UL94 V-0 flammability rating.
Input and output connections occupy opposite ends of the pin arrangement, with unused positions between them. PCB layout must still provide the clearance and creepage required by the application. The specified soldering limit is 300°C for 10 seconds, with the solder joint at least 1 mm from the package body. Natural-convection cooling supports integration where the load and ambient conditions permit.
5. A Modular Source for High-Voltage Bias Circuits
The GRF series can serve as a high-voltage source for compatible detector bias circuits, analytical instruments, radiation measurement equipment and selected capacitor-charging applications. Model selection depends on the required voltage, available output current, ripple tolerance and load behavior.
Integrating the conversion circuitry into a module can reduce the work involved in developing a discrete high-voltage supply. Each application should be checked against the selected model’s ratings, particularly where startup current, charging energy or output stability affects performance.
6. Environmental Ratings for Equipment Design
The stated operating temperature range is −40°C to +85°C, with storage limits of −55°C to +105°C and humidity up to 95% under non-condensing conditions. These ratings provide a basis for enclosure and thermal design; outdoor installations also require suitable protection against moisture, contamination and condensation.
The published MTBF is 1,000,000 hours, calculated using MIL-HDBK-217F at 25°C. This figure is a statistical reliability estimate under defined assumptions, rather than a guaranteed service life for an individual module.
