Device features:
1. Protect the control loop of the upper stage of the host computer.
2. Reduce the impact of environmental noise on the test circuit, and can overcome inverter noise and various high and low frequency pulsation interference.
3. It suppresses the interference of circulating currents in public ground wires and pulses of frequency converters, solenoid valves, thyristors, etc. to equipment. It also has the function of limiting voltage and current for lower-level equipment. It is a faithful protection for transmitters, instruments, frequency converters, solenoid valves, PLC/DCS input and output, and communication interfaces.
The DIN35 series standard 35mm guide rail card holder structure is easy to install and can effectively isolate: the potential difference between signal input, signal output, power supply and earth.
1. Three-Port Isolation for Separate Output Domains
The GRE series provides two isolated high-voltage outputs within one module. Input-to-output and channel-to-channel isolation are each specified at 6,000 VDC, tested for 60 seconds at the stated 1 mA leakage condition. Insulation resistance exceeds 1,000 MΩ at 500 VDC across each barrier.
This architecture allows the two outputs to serve circuits with separate ground references, helping reduce ground-loop interference between instrument sections. It offers a compact alternative to using two individual converters where independently referenced bias supplies are required.
2. Configurable Bipolar Supply Connection
Where permitted by the selected model’s datasheet, the two isolated outputs can be connected in series to establish positive and negative rails around a common reference. The junction between one channel’s positive terminal and the other channel’s negative terminal forms the midpoint.
This arrangement supports compatible circuits requiring bipolar high-voltage bias, such as electrostatic deflection or electrode-control stages. Output loading, insulation requirements and protection behavior must follow the approved connection scheme. Galvanic isolation alone does not guarantee that a fault on one output leaves the other unaffected.
3. Multiple Input and High-Voltage Output Options
Nominal input options include 5 V, 12 V and 24 VDC, with respective operating ranges of 4.5–9 V, 9–18 V and 18–28 V. Output options span 50–400 VDC per channel, with total module power ratings from 1 to 5 W, depending on the model.
Both channels have matching nominal output voltages. For example, the listed GRE12200200S-4W provides two 200 VDC outputs rated at 10 mA each.
Specified line regulation is ±1%, and load regulation is ±1% over 10–100% load. Listed conversion efficiency ranges from 60% to 80%, with no-load consumption of 350 mW.
4. Two Isolated Channels in a Compact Package
The GRE measures 33.0 × 10.5 × 15.5 mm and weighs approximately 10 g. Its PVC housing material carries a stated UL94 V-0 flammability rating.
The 12-pin arrangement provides separate terminal pairs for the two outputs, with unused positions between connection groups. PCB layout must still maintain the clearance and creepage required by the application. The stated soldering limit is 300°C for 10 seconds. Natural-convection cooling supports integration within the applicable load and temperature limits.
5. Regulated Outputs with Recoverable Fault Protection
The series specifies ±2% output-voltage accuracy, ripple and noise of ±1% measured with a 20 MHz bandwidth, and switching frequencies of 200–400 kHz. A temperature coefficient of 0.02%/°C characterizes output variation under the stated conditions.
Both outputs include self-recovering short-circuit protection. Operation can resume after the fault is removed, subject to the module’s specified recovery conditions. Applications requiring uninterrupted operation of the remaining channel should verify cross-channel behavior under the intended fault and loading conditions.
6. Dual-Channel Bias for Instrumentation
The GRE series can supply compatible dual-channel detector circuits, photomultiplier or microchannel-plate bias stages, nuclear measurement instruments and selected electrostatic control circuits.
Its isolated outputs are useful where two loads require separate reference potentials or an approved bipolar connection. Selection should consider voltage, available current, ripple, load capacitance and channel interaction. In imaging or beam-control equipment, suitability must be assessed for the specific circuit being powered.
Here are seven specific application scenarios of the GRE Series 2:1 Wide Voltage Input 6KV Isolation Dual-Loop DC High Voltage Output Power Module:
